| CEMENT EVIDENCE FOUND IN BOAT From: MEANOLDHAG Cement Residue Reportedly Found in Boat of Missing Woman’s Husband February 26, 2003 Modesto police have reportedly found cement residue in the boat of a missing woman’s husband. KCBS reporter Larry Chiaroni says police confiscated Scott Peterson’s boat during the investigation into the disappearance of 27-year old Laci Peterson. The couple who sold Peterson the boat, Bruce and Christine Peterson, were asked by police to look over the boat after it was confiscated. The Petersons, who are no relation to Scott Peterson, told KPIX they noticed the residue in the bottom of the boat. ”There was only one life jacket,” said Bruce Peterson. “That was one of the first things we saw was that there was only one life jacket.” Peterson said he also noticed that auxiliary wheels used to haul the boat in and out of the water were missing. {From the Modesto Bee} "We sold it to him (Scott) on Dec 9, 2002, Bruce (Peterson) said. We negotiated the sale price and he came back the next morning with the cash, after the banks opened, and (he) bought the boat." Laci's family says what they find strange about the boat is, that as far as they knew, Scott never told Laci about it. And Scott told them later, he was saving the boat as a surprise for Christmas Day. But Bruce Peterson says Scott never mentioned anything about the boat being a surprise for Laci, or anyone else for that matter. } Early in the investigation, police reportedly found full and empty cement bags at Scott Peterson’s home and a storage locker, but Peterson told police the cement had been used for a home improvement project. Laci Peterson disappeared on Christmas Eve of last year. She was eight months pregnant at the time and due to give birth earlier this month. Her husband has come under suspicion but has not been named as a suspect. ==================== DISCUSSIONS From: FORMERNYGIRL Feb-26, 2003 Cement was discussed early on because there were bags of it on his house property, I remember. (maybe his warehouse too, that I don't remember.} Scott said it was the pool company's cement, but when they denied it, he talked about making the cement anchors, and about doing a lot of DIY. It's good to finally know the MPD is onto something firm, isn't it? ======================== From: CountryGirl (MARQUISDESOD) Feb-26, 2003 That's my recollection too Shana. He was seen putting something in the back of his truck. So, did the boat stay parked at the warehouse? Saying he was taking umbrellas to the warehouse, then working a bit before he went 'fishing' gives him his storyline in case he was seen doing any of that. I think he loaded Laci's body in the truck and drove her to the warehouse, put her in the boat and dumped her somewhere. ======================= HOME INDEX TRIAL NEWS SCOTT LACI EVIDENCE-STORIES MAGAZINE INDEX ALIBI-WITNESS LIST TIMELINE AMBER |
