A woman who a defense attorney for Scott Peterson accused of trying to sneak onto the
jury to unfairly convict the man was eliminated from the jury pool this morning.

After meeting behind closed doors, Judge Alfred Delucchi excused Juror 29308 from further jury
service. The woman now could face possible prosecution for what Los Angeles attorney Mark
Geragos said is perjury -a prospect San Mateo County's district attorney said today was not very likely.

The retiree said during questioning March 30 that she could be fair to both Peterson and
prosecutors in the high-profile case. But Geragos accused her of lying, saying he
received a call from someone reporting the woman was out to get Peterson.

The man, who talked to another lawyer in Geragos' office, said he overheard the woman say
she was going to sneak onto the jury so she could give Peterson "what he was due."
Both were on a bus trip to Reno at the time, the tipster said.

Delucchi said he dismissed the woman "out of an abundance of caution."

Prosecutors talked to the tipster recently and asked to meet with the
judge this morning in his chambers.

Juror 29308 had been ordered to return to court May 11, one day after the man who
reported her was to have a private meeting with lawyers and Delucchi.

The incident highlighted an issue Geragos has said he's been concerned about since jury
selection began last month. So called "stealth jurors," or those who might have an agenda,
could work their way onto the panel simply to vote Peterson guilty without regard for the evidence.
