3 More prospective Jurors Qualified
Tuesday, April 27, 2004

~ Jury selection continued Monday, with the court qualifying two more jurors.
The pool now totals 52 people, which is 18 shy of the 70 needed to seat a jury in the case.

-A woman with sandy blonde hair who works in an administrative job for a biotechnology
company was the first to make the cut. Although she made it, the court had to take
her back into chambers to discuss her relationship with her first husband.

The woman said her first husband had been convicted of murdering another woman, before the juror and
he married. She also said that after he was incarcerated, he was murdered while serving his sentence.

After returning to the courtroom, the woman said the episode in her life would not affect her judgement.

"I'm going to do what I think is right," she said.

-The second prospect qualified Monday is a British man who works for a nearby city.

Wearing wire-rimmed glasses, a pen sticking out of his shirt pocket,
he admitted he has seen some of the media coverage of the case.

Geragos asked him what he thought about "stealth jurors," or people who lie to get a
seat on the jury so they can convict Peterson. The man said he was not surprised people
would do that, but assured the defense attorney he took the task much more seriously.

"I view this as a hugely onerous and solemn kind of commitment," he said.

-A man added to the jury pool works in a maintenance bay and has served as a union
shop steward at work. He told defense attorney Mark Geragos that he would not have
any problem voting to acquit Peterson if the prosecution did not prove its case despite
all of the publicity the case has received. He said that media's coverage of prominent
criminal cases does not always use the same set of facts that are presented in court.

"I'm going to give you an example of the O.J. Simpson trial. To this day,
I don't know what happened," the prospective juror said.
