| NATIONAL ENQUIRER - JUNE 21, 2004 SCOTT'S IN LOVE WITH A PRISON WORKER-- AND SHE IS A DOUBLE FOR LACI BY DON GENTILE SYNOPSIS by Rickamorti1 Imprisioned Scott Peterson has fallen in love with a beautiful brunette who bears a striking resemblance to his murdered wife Laci! Scott is pursuing her while standing trial in Modesto for his wife's murder. NE learned that Scott has passed at least 2 love notes to 32-year old Denise Salas, who brings the accused killer the clothes he wears in court,and prosecutors could use his foolish actions against him. "The notes are of a sexual nature, flirtatious, implying that he would like to get together with her, said an insider. "Scott is definitely in love with this woman. He has been telling other prisoners that she's his ideal type, that he really has a thing for her." In one of his notes Scott said he wished they had met under different circumstances. Denise was shocked that she recieved the notes and turned them over to her supervisors right away. "The decision was made to let Scott continue his actions, which may be used against him at his trial." They asked Denise to turn over any more love notes Scott gives her and she agreed to help. She has gotten at least one other note and may be called to testify. Denise's contacts with Scott occur as part of her job, as senior program co-ordinator for correctional and community services at the Service League of San Mateo County. The organization provides a number of services for county prisoners and their families. It is headquartered in RedwoodCity where Scott's trial was moved. Scott is housed in maximum-security cell No. 3W-B on the third floor of the Brendan P. Maguire Correctional Facility. When he appears in court, he wears one of several suits his parents have turned over to the Service League for their son's use. Denise's job is to deliver the clothes to Scott that he wears to court and get them dry cleaned when necessary. She is at the jail often. Her office is in the basement of the jail and Scott is brought down in shackels, he then walks to the door of the Service League office where Denise hands him his clothes. It would not be hard for Scott to pass her a note. The prisioner takes the clothes to a fourth-floor holding cell, where he changes, and is taken to the courthouse. The clothes are left in the holding cell afterwards. That's were Denise would pick them up when they need to be cleaned. "Scott could have easily left a note for her in the suit. It would also be easy to pass her a note in the basement office." Denise is a Laci lookalike who is married to a juvenile probation officer. Scott's note-passing is a sure sign he's not feeling any remorse over the loss of his wife and unborn child, Craig Silverman, former Chief Deputy DA of Denver. "If the Judge allows this into evidence, his actions would not sit well with the jury. It will show that he is a philandering type even when he's on trial for the murder of his wife and unborn baby!"
