I'd had compassion for Jackie and Lee, understanding what is like to have an adult child who occasionally screws up. I've puffed along with Jackie as she hauls her little tank to court and all those loooong trips to visit Scott in jail. I've known they must have sleepless nights and have visions of spending their retirement in a shelter someplace...but THIS WAS IT FOR ME...I don't give a rat's ass what happens to them anymore! Their treatment of the Rocha's is simply cold and uncaring. While I've never felt these people were close friends, I'm sure they've tried to tolerate one another. Actually though, maybe they were cozy...thus, Laci's sweet note to her ole hag of a MIL... ********** From: MARY165 May-30, 2003 It was until Geragos announced "absolutely NOT!" He changed his mind and would only give the Rochas the four items that were brought to his office. He had decided against letting Sharon enter the house causing her to take action and climb the fence, break in and set off the alarms to Geragos' office which I thought was poetic justice. It was also neat that the group went to the neighboring homes and warned them not to be frightened that they would be hearing alarms going off, that it was only them getting Laci's belongings! Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do. ************** From: Airplane (AIRPLAIN) May-30, 2003 The reason Geragos recanted on the deal and announced "Absolutely not!" is that he found out that Jackie had lied when she said nothing of Laci's was left in the house. He must have told the Petersons that a deal had been reached. Jackie then had to own up there was a bunch of Laci's stuff in thehouse. He was then between a rock and hard place. Refuse to let the Rochas into the house or freely admit that Jackie is a liar -- and you know she'sgoing to be a character witness for Scott. What a totally creepy bunch of people. I just lost all sympathy for the Petersons. ************** From: Ginja (GINJA54) May-30, 2003 The police have done all they can with the house and it's no longer a crime scene. So the truth of the matter is that the Rochas were free to enter the house once the house was no longer a crime scene. Geragos set the June 3rd date for his own personal walkthru of the house. How long has Geragos been on this case? He's had plenty of time to take his walkthru. And once this lockout was publicized, the ethical thing for him to do was to take his walkthru immediately, freeing up the house for the Rochas. But he didn't. He claimed he wanted this walkthru first before the Rochas entered because he feared the Rochas would plant evidence or take something away that was important to the case. But again, the investigation was completed and anything having relevance to the case had been seized. The sob is going to retaliate. Can you imagine the audacity of his filing a police report against the Rochas for illegal entry and burglary??!!! Even the police knew they weren't doing anything wrong breaking in to get Laci's stuff. So glad to see people doing the right thing.
