Amber Frey's attorney, Gloria Allred, said it is unlikely that Frey, Scott Peterson's girlfriend
at the time Laci Peterson was reported missing, will testify this week. "I have no plans
for her to be in Modesto tomorrow," Allred said Thursday.

DNA expert William Shields, professor of biology at the State University of New York
at Syracuse, is expected to testify for the defense Monday.

SEEN AND HEARD
During a break in court, Scott Peterson's sister-in-law defended his family's decision to
wear pins in the shape of a gold ribbon inlaid with blue. Blue and yellow ribbons had been
the symbol for hope in the search for Laci and Conner Peterson. "The bottom line is we're
not taking them off until we find who took Laci and Conner from us,"
Janey Peterson said

One member of Scott Peterson's family appeared to nod off shortly after 10 a.m., during
questioning that was heavy on technical jargon regarding mitochondrial DNA analysis.
Gloria Allred, attorney for potential witness Amber Frey, acknowledged at a press
briefing that she dozed during similar testimony Wednesday.

At least three armed bailiffs stood at two courtroom entrances
throughout the hearing Thursday.
