Dark Twists and Turns
by John South

New questions have surfaced pointing suspicion at Laci Peterson's husband Scott, in the
disappearance of the 8-months pregnant woman. Sources have said  cops found blood spots
on the floor of Laci's
kitchen. Police think the blood is Laci's but are waiting for test
results to come back from the California Crime Lab, said a  source close to the case.

In another new development a woman has called Modesto police saying she's
Scott's
secret girlfriend, an insider told The Enquirer.

"An angry woman called to say, "Why are TV shows carrying photos of Scott Peterson
and talking about his missing wife.  He's my boyfriend."  The woman told incredulos
cops that she lived in a nearby city and was dating Scott,
who told her he was divorced.

What's more sources told The Enquirer that Scott may have taken out a
large
life insurance policy on his wife. Cops are puzzled, said the close source.
Scott is the main breadwinner in the family while Laci stopped working as her
pregnancy advanced.  But police are investigating if allegations are true that
Laci only had a small policy on Scott,  while he took a big one on her.

Police searching a warehouse rented by Scott, a fertilizer salesman,
found bags of cement and a bucket, according to the insider.

"Scott told them he'd been mixing cement in the bucket to make heavy anchors for his
boat. Cops say criminals have been known to use "cement boots" to weigh down bodies
and drop them in the water.  Scott Peterson has not been named as a suspect in the
case, but police also say that they have not ruled him out.

Husband Fails Lie Detector
By Don Gentile

Scott Peterson "lied through his teeth" when he said he did not murder his
wife Laci, according to a leading lie detection expert.

"He's a classic deceiver and he's guilty as hell', concluded Alfred Starewich,
who scientifically analyzed stress levels in Peterson's voice durning his nationally
televised
statements to Diane Sawyer.

Starewich told the Enquirer that Peterson's deception levels were "off the charts" on all the
major points of the investigation into his wife's disappearance.  "Diane Sawyer asked him",
"did you murder your wife?' He said,  "No, no I did not".  And I had absolutely nothing to
do with her disappearance.' On that question alone, Peterson showed extremely
abnormal stress."We call it a panic response", Starewich said.

The fertilizer salesman claimed he told police about his affair with single mom
Amber Frey on Dec. 24th, the day his wife vanished.  "That's a lie said, Starewich.

Peterson claimed that he told Laci about the affair.  "That was a lie. He never told her at all,"
said Starewich.  "He even lied whenDiane Sawyer asked him, "Are there other lovers out there?"

Starewich, the nation's leading voice stress analyst, is a former Marine
counterintelligence agent and police chief.  The article goes on to say what
equipment is used for Starewich to arrive at these conclusions.
Scott also lied when he said that his marriage was glorious.
