Former Chief Volunteer and Key Figure in Peterson Case
Opens 1st Low Carb Market in Chic Santa Monica, CA
and Donates Proceeds To Laci Peterson Fund

Brad Saltzman, a key figure in the Laci Peterson case who served as Chief Volunteer for the
search for Laci and General Manager at the Red Lion Hotel in Modesto, California where the
command center was based from will donate 100% of the profits from the grand opening day
of his 1st low carb market to the Laci Peterson Fund. The grand opening will be held on
Wednesday, December 17th from 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Pure Foods, 1820 Wilshire Blvd in
Santa Monica, CA. Saltzman will have Laci's photos prominently displayed with a sign so
shoppers recognize that the proceeds from that day are being donated to her fund. "Opening
a National chain of low carb markets is a direct result of being involved in Laci's case.
Laci in her special way brought so many people together. Donating the profits from
our grand opening is the least I can do," said Saltzman.

"After all the media attention and negative energy associated with the Peterson case, I decided
to take a totally different direction and make a new start" said Saltzman. Saltzman's departure
from the hotel was nationally publicized on CNN, FOX NEWS, MSNBC, COURT TV, National
Enquirer and several network television news affiliates in Sacramento and San Francisco, CA

Saltzman said the stress of the Peterson case caused him to gain weight. But after losing more
than 20 pounds on the Atkins Diet while trying to piece back together his life after departure from
the hotel, Saltzman decided to focus on his health." I guess I ate a little too much, for the same
reasons a lot of us do -- to escape," Saltzman said. "This business not only gives me a chance
to refocus, but I also think the people really want a store like this," said Saltzman.

The second Pure Foods store opens in early January 2004 in Beverly Hills at 350 N. Canon Drive.
Saltzman plans to open 1 location every month.

According to food industry market research and other published sources, consumers spent
$3.5 billion in 2002 on packaged low-carb foods, up 400 percent from the previous year.
An estimated 35 million people now embracing some form of low-carb diet. Fifty-four million
Americans (27 percent) are dieting at any given time, and 77 million (39 percent)
are trying to control their weight.
