| More Women Emerge In Peterson Case May 25, 2003 As has been the pattern throughout the Laci Peterson case, there are days when there is little or no new information and then days when there seems to be an avalanche of new developments. Friday the floodgates opened. Sources on both sides of the case confirmed to KTVU that Scott Peterson had "some sort of relationship" with two women other than Amber Frey, although they would not go as far as to call them girlfriends. Just One of Many? May 27, 2003 Investigators believe Frey is not the only woman with whom Peterson had an affair during his five-year marriage to Laci, ABCNEWS has learned. If he did have other affairs, it could damage his credibility, but it could also cut down one of the prosecution's potential arguments as to a possible motive for Peterson to kill his wife — that his relationship with Frey made him want to get out of his marriage. "If he had other women, that is he was involved in other affairs, then certainly he was lying to his wife, and that would be something that I think would show that perhaps it was not a loving marriage," Allred said. "However, the defense might like to jump on that and try to indicate that maybe Amber Frey's testimony is not that important, maybe she's just one of many, maybe she was not the motive for the killing and therefore, he didn't kill [Laci]." If there are tapes of Peterson's conversations with Frey, though, it would likely make her a more important witness than any other women with whom Peterson might have been involved, Allred said. "I think that there was something special about the relationship with Scott Peterson and Amber Frey and I think that it's reported that she will be a key prosecution witness," Allred said. In other developments, Sacramento television station KOVR-TV is reporting that Peterson has continued to send Frey letters, even as he sits in jail awaiting trial. WAS AMBER THE ONLY GIRLFRIEND??? The latest information also came as reports circulated that Scott was having affairs with at least two other women besides Frey. The women could be called as witnesses in the trial. Whether or not Scott had multiple girlfriends, he was feverish in his attempts to communicate with Frey as the case heated up earlier this year. The source told Fox that Scott kept offering to buy Frey gifts and even said he'd pay for a vacation she planned to take, but she refused the gestures. Scott did manage to have expensive jewelry delivered to her. The method and place of delivery might prove an interesting point in the case, according to the source.
