Laci's Mother Enters Peterson Home
May 30, 2003

Against the advice of her attorney, Laci Peterson's mother  Sharon Rocha has
entered the former home of her slain daughter and is gathering her belongings.

The home is the one Laci shared with her husband, Scott Peterson,
who is charged with capital murder in the deaths of his 8-months
pregnant wife and their unborn son
Conner.

Scott Peterson's defense attorney, Mark Geragos, warned Rocha that going in to
the home could be tainting a crime scene. Rocha's lawyer Al Clark replied that it
was already tainted, because Scott's
parents had previously been inside.

Geragos apparently called Clark Friday morning after hearing the Rochas
were going to the house and said:
"if you want a war, you've got a war."

Although Geragos was furious Rocha had entered the home, Clark said the
argument that their presence may taint the crime scene "may not hold water."

"If one person was in that house, it tainted it as a crime scene," Clark said.

Clark had advised Rocha against entering the home, saying he wanted to
work with defense attorneys and the court to abide by proper legal procedure,
"and just  do it the right way," Clark told Fox News Friday afternoon.

"It just went beyond what we wanted to do."

The Rochas took everything from lamps to Christmas
presents to furniture from the residence.

Meanwhile, Scott's former girlfriend Amber Frey has said that she will
most likely testify for the prosecution in the
preliminary hearing of
the Peterson murder case on July 17, a source told Fox News.

The source also said that Frey is the complete motive behind the murder, and
that the tape recordings and
tapped phone calls will be very vital to the case.

On Thursday, prosecutors in the case filed a motion to unseal the autopsy
reports on Laci and Conner after news leaked that the body of the fetus
had a significant cut and plastic tape wrapped around his neck.

Through their spokeswoman, Kim Petersen, Laci's family said
they learned the autopsy details from television, without warning.

"No family should ever have to learn the autopsy results of somebody
they love on national TV, and that's exactly what happened,"
Petersen said in a televised interview on Friday.

She said Laci's mother was "devastated" by the public news.

"She asked me to go out and convey the pain that was inflicted on their
family. ... She just implores the media to be sensitive and remember
that this isn't a story, this is their life," Petersen said.

Clark told Fox News Friday that the anger the Rochas felt over the
leaking of the graphic details of their daughter and grandson's death
was the impetus behind them going into the Peterson's home on
Friday. The family is now wholeheartedly supporting the district
attorney's push to get the full autopsy report released to the public.

The child was found with one-and-a-half loops of plastic
tape wrapped around his neck and a large cut on his body,
believed to have come from a knife or some sort of sharp object.

Since the autopsy report and a graphic addendum was leaked to
news outlets Thursday, the blame game has been going
full force as to who exactly leaked the documents.

Sources on Scott Peterson's legal team told Fox News that it wasn't
them but said the documents are very supportive of their case.

On the flip side, the prosecution said if there was something substantial to the
report, they would have had a search warrant to scour Scott Peterson's house,
either if there was something suggested further that he murdered his wife
and child or if  information points to somebody else. The prosecution said
there was nothing in the autopsy that helped the case one way or the other.

Both bodies washed up along the shore of   San Francisco Bay in late April.
