Pitch to end violence Sunday was the Eighth Annual Strike Out Violence Day at SBC Park, and a special guest threw out the first pitch before the baseball game. That honor went to Sharon Rocha. She's the mother of Laci Peterson, who was eight months pregnant when she was murdered by her husband Scott Peterson, who is now sitting on Death Row. Sharon Rocha, Laci Peterson's mother: "It's unfortunate that any of us even have to be here for this reason, but along with the Family Violence Prevention Fund and Giants Community Fund, they are making a difference in our community." The Giants organization hopes this day will encourage men to talk to boys about violence, and teach them to respect women and children. ALBUMS TRIBUTES TRIAL VERDICT |
