| Fabrizio Paolozzi took over The Shack in April 2001 as a co-owner and said he last saw Laci Peterson about four years ago. He worked for the couple for two weeks, and he said although he didn't know them personally, he respects what they did with the business. Paolozzi said he's seen Scott about four times since he took over the business 18 months ago, the last time in early December. He said he believes Scott Peterson is not responsible for his wife's disappearance. "In my heart, and all of us here, we know he's not involved," Paolozzi said. I know all the publicity states everywhere that Laci and Scott "owned" The Shack. Both sets of parents have either said it or agreed with that statement, but I'm not so sure they were actually the *owners,* but maybe *proprietors.* I think because they were a well-liked young couple, this hasn't been talked about before. Now, maybe it needs a second look. There is no "deed" recorded for them buying the property or selling it. The only things recorded in the SLO documents are transactions called "Notice of Intent to Sell/Bulk Transfer." There are never any actual "sale" documents, only "intents." No deeds of any kind, warrant deeds or trust deeds (loans).
