| • LORI ELLSWORTH is also a longtime friend of Laci Peterson's. She admitted under cross examination that Scott Peterson was a devoted husband who "did a lot of things for Laci." Ellsworth, testified Scott Peterson refused to allow any pictures of himself with his wife to be posted in the volunteer center where search efforts were being coordinated. Although there were pictures of Laci with friends and family, none were posted of the couple. "He didn't want wedding pictures with him and Laci (on the wall),'' said Ellsworth Under cross-examination from defense attorney Pat Harris, Ellsworth also acknowledged that Amber Frey spent the night at her house on the evening Frey held a nationally televised news conference in Modesto in January, 2003, to disclose her affair with Scott Peterson. Frey then spent subsequent nights at other friends' homes. Family and friends of Laci Peterson's have repeatedly testified that they stood by Scott Peterson until they learned he was having an affair with Frey, a Fresno masseuse. Frey cooperated with police and secretly recorded several phone conversations she had with Scott Peterson in the weeks after his wife disappeared. • RENE TOMLINSON is another longtime friend of Laci Peterson's. "I'm just tired, worn down, taking it easy," Laci told her friend, Rene , on Dec. 20, 2002, a day Laci shopped for fabric for the baby's cradle, Tomlinson testified. She testified that on Dec. 25, people who came to the Peterson home didn't walk all over the house, but only stepped into one room, picked up fliers, and left.
