THE TRIAL of   SCOTT LEE PETERSON
PAGE 2
- PROSECUTION
WEEK 6 BEGINS - Tuesday, July 6, 2004
Lawyers in the Scott Peterson murder trial spent more than an hour behind closed doors with Judge
Delucchi this morning as a Modesto police detective important to the case returned to the courtroom.

A day after his wife, Laci, disappeared, Scott  told a state polygraph expert
for the California Department of Justice that he was not having an affair and that
his marriage was fine, the
expert testified Tuesday at Peterson's murder trial.

Testimony in Scott 's  trial turned Tuesday to the discovery of his pregnant wife's fetus near
San Francisco Bay.   A
dog walker found Conner's remains in grassy marshland on the
shores of San Francisco Bay.The next day, about a mile away,
another dog owner
came across Laci's body wedged in some rocks on the bayshore.
Richmond, CA
Fire and Police arrived at the scene, answering the 911 call.

Prosecutors spent the morning Wednesday guiding two sheriff's deputies
through graphic testimony about the poor condition of the remains -- testimony
that drove Laci Peterson's
mother and stepfather from the courtroom.

A string of marina workers testified the skies were cloudy over San Francisco Bay that Christmas Eve
day and activity was light.  And the
man who sold Scott the boat also testified.

Prosecutors used a re-enactment of sorts to make their point, showing jurors pictures of a pregnant
woman whose measurements were nearly identical to those of Laci  at the time she vanished.

WEEK 7 BEGINS - Monday, July 12, 2004
A comforter apparently stained with blood was among numerous pieces of evidence
seized from Scott's home in the days after Laci  vanished,
as week seven began.

Sgt. Adam McGILL testified about a 45 minute video shown to jurors.
He was followed by fellow Modesto
Officers, COYLE,  SKULTETY,CASTRO & LOVELL

Modesto Detective Henry HENDEE * testified that investigators searched Scott's warehouse
and found one homemade cement weight,  and said that they uncovered evidence
that Scott could have made four more.  And the judge is still deciding just
how much the jury should get to see of the television interviews of Scott .

Scott's attorney has again asked for a mistrial, this time based on evidence that a lead
investigator in the double-murder investigation lied on the stand. July 29 date for a hearing of
defense arguments for a mistrial. Week 7 ended with Detective Hendee on the stand for the third day.

There is a discussion regarding if Scott's interviews on "Good Morning America" and
others will be shown to the jurors, and what they will not see.

WEEK 8 BEGINS - Monday, July 19, 2004
We begin the week with
Detective Hendee on the stand for his 4th day.

Detective Darren Ruskamp took the stand as Prosecutors tried to paint Scott  as a callous father-to-be,
showing jurors today photos of what would have been his first child's room being used instead for storage.

The testimony by John Nelson discussed Duct Tape.

WEEK 9 BEGINS - Monday, July 26, 2004
The week begins with Scott & Laci's Financial Planner on the stand testifying about
their Life Insurance.  Next was a Commercial
Fisherman who has written books
about fishing.   He explained why Scott couldn't have fished  for sturgeon.

-Peterson jury views his fishing boat on July 26, 2004

Friday, July 30, 2004
A detective's misstep on the witness stand isn't reason enough to throw out

double-murder charges against Scott Peterson, a judge ruled Thursday.

That means the trial will resume Monday for a 10th week of testimony.

WEEK 10 BEGINS - Monday, August 2, 2004
August 3, 2004 -Scott Peterson added the Playboy channel and two hard-core
pornography stations to his programming line-up after his pregnant wife
went missing, a satellite television employee testified Tuesday.

The Judge is angered and the testimony of a witness is stricken.
-A friend of Scott & Laci's is called to the stand.
-JUDGE HALTS TRIAL FOR NEW EVIDENCE
-Plastic tarp and duct tape are tested for links to body
-AMBER ALERT

WEEK 11 BEGINS - Tuesday, August 10, 2004
-Amber Frey describes Scotts seduction on her first day on the stand.

On the first day of Scott Peterson's double-murder trial, prosecutors played a
grainy recording of the Modesto man reading
poetry to his girlfriend, Amber Frey.

-On day two of testimony, the prosecution plays taped telephone converstations.

The next tape Scott tells Amber he's near the Eiffel Tower, that they have
a  "very beautiful" future together and he loves the movie "The Shining".

(This  timeline shows Scott & Amber's Connections)

-On day three, Amber confronts Scott
After weeks of swallowing Scott Peterson's lies,  Amber Frey angrily lashed out at her deceitful lover,
telling him in tape-recorded phone calls that she suspected he was involved in Laci's disappearance.
"
I mean you predicted your wife would be missing..........save your tears". Amber said.
and
Scott twice referred to his unborn son as "her child."

transcript of 23 minute call from Preliminary Hearing)

WIRETAP INDEX

WEEK 12 BEGINS - Monday, August 16, 2004
The week begins with more wiretap testimony being played for the jurors.
Scott apologizes for lying to Amber....but
continues to evade the truth.

She thought he was a pathological liar and the prime suspect in his wife's disappearance.
He knew she blamed him for ruining her life and might go to the police.   But neither betrayal
nor suspicion stopped Amber Frey and Scott Peterson from burning up the
phone lines.

Amber Frey identifies items given to her on her birthday, from Scott,
on what was Laci's original due date for giving birth to Conner.

Frey testified that she gave a press conference Jan. 24 because she was
deluged by press requests after a Fresno radio station leaked her name.

In taped call, Scott  tearfully begged Amber for secret meeting

Aug. 18, 2004 ~ MAJOR DEVELOPMENTS Wednesday in the Scott Peterson case :
The judge in the  murder trial sent jurors home early after telling them, "
There's been a potential
development in this case that has to be checked out before we can go any further
." The details of the
delay were not revealed and attorneys are bound by a gag order from discussing it. Peterson's former
mistress, Amber Frey, was set to take the witness stand for cross-examination. It is the second time
in two weeks the judge has sent the jury home early because of new evidence. Two weeks ago,
the judge
delayed the trial for two days while attorneys investigated "newly discovered evidence."
The details of that delay also have not been publicly revealed.
---
WHAT'S NEXT: Court was canceled for Thursday and will resume Monday with Frey
scheduled to be on the witness stand. No reason was given for the cancelation.

WEEK 13 BEGINS ~ Monday, August 23, 2004
The week began with NO BIG DEVELOPMENTS.........another ploy by Geragos?
First on the stand was
Mary Anderson who discussed Scott's cell phone towers.

Next was the LONG AWAITED
Cross-Exam of Amber, and as usual, Geragos started with
a JOKE.......Mr. Geragos, the MURDER of Laci & Conner is NO JOKE!

Geragos treads lightly with star witness on her first day of cross-exam...
Once again wiretaps are played for jurors, this time lies  are exposed as
Scott chats with family and friends.

Steve Jacobson ,  an Investigator with Stanislaus County D.A., took the stand.

The week ends with the jury thinking about all the lies Scott has told family
and friends as to his whereabouts................and the
"whistle".

WEEK 14 BEGINS - Monday, August 30, 2004

The week began with Lydell Wall returning to the stand.   As Jason Tardiff of  Enterprise Rent-a-Car

Car Dealer who took Laci's Land Rover as a trade-in for a truck for Scott.
The dealer eventually returned the car to Laci's mother.

As three Laci look-a-likes are brought in to testify, a bicyclist tells the court
the pregnant woman he saw walking her dog was "100 percent"
not Laci.

A string of neighborhood Dog Walkers took the stand.

Thick mud, strong currents, dark waters and a strong surge made it nearly impossible to locate Laci
Peterson's body or anchors on the floor of San Francisco Bay, an expert
diver testified Tuesday.

Outside court, Peterson's parents and Laci's parents appeared
to have the first
verbal confrontation of the trial.

Lee Peterson

who performed the autopsies on both Laci and Conner.   His testimony continued
to another day, when he confirmed Conner was in
better condition than Laci.

CRAIG GROGAN a Detective on the Modesto PD
As Grogan continued his testimony, describing his full investigation, and ** 41 reasons
why he suspected Scott was guilty... tapes of Scott's interview with
Diane Sawyer were played.
ABC's Diane Sawyer  turned up the heat during an interview
with Scott Peterson in January 2003. She asked him
point blank about his affair and if he had
anything to do with Laci's murder. The Diane Sawyer interview was 1 of 3 videotapes played
for the jury on Tuesday. They were all
**interviews Peterson did with the media.
On the tape with Diane Sawyer, the jury saw Peterson breakdown in tears about his wife.

Dr. Greggory DeVore debates Geragos over Conner's age.
-Agent
Alex Quick describes Scott's reaction to him.
For the first time in the trial, the jurors saw a video of Laci, taken just 6 months before her death.

Photos were intoduced as evidence

WEEK 18 - BEGINS Monday, Sept 27, 2004
This week began with   Grogan still on the stand....when testimomy turned
to affairs and
"testimony" by Scott's sister Anne Bird as reported by Grogan.
