| October 18 - The Defense case finally began with it's first witness, Carl Jensen, a Private Investigator, taking the stand. -Is Scott being prepped for the stand, or is this just another Defense ploy? - Second to take the stand was a paid defense cement expert. -The director of security at another fertilizer company testified in Scott's behalf. And next was a forensic accountant that works regularly for the defense. -When it came time for him to be cross-examined....it was a juror who had a question for him! -Kevin Bertalotto is called to the stand again, this time as a witness for the defense.... -East Bay Regional Park police officer Timothy Phillips testified, and MICHAEL CARDOZA IS GAGGED! -Neighbor Richardo Cordova testified about a strange knock at his door. -A paid Defense witness asks Prosecution and Jury to "Cut him some slack" as he wipes his brow. -Detective Grogan is called to the stand and questioned about the word "missing". -A wiretapped telephone conversation between Scott and his brother Joe was played for the jury. -Scott Peterson's parent's take the stand in his defense. -The final witness, Michael Hicks, takes the stand before the DEFENSE RESTED 10-26-04! Prosecutors rested without calling any further witness's on 10/27/04 -Jurors may be told to consider lesser charges against Scott Peterson -CLOSING ARGUMENTS began Monday, November 1, with Rick Distaso giving a powerful summation for jurors. -Mark Geragos to give his Closing Arguments November 2, 2004, but how can he live up to his opening statements? -What the jurors didn't hear -The judge read the Jury Instructions.....then -Jury began deliberations Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at which time they were sequestered. Thursday, November 4, 2004 - It's been reported that Juror #5, the Doctor/Lawyer has been chosen as the Jury Foreman. -While the jury continued to deliberate, Judge Delucchi listened to arguments regarding camera's in the court to watch the verdict. -Jury requests to view boat. It's unclear why, but sources say jurors will get a chance. Monday, November 8, 2004 -Jury views boat for a second time and requests viewing of other evidence items. -Does Justin Falconer know who the possible "holdout" is? Tuesday, November 9, 2004 -Everyone was in shock when all the players in the Scott defense team, prosecution, family and friends returned to the courtroom today. Speculations were a verdict, hung jury or mistrial. But it was announced that Juror 7 was dismissed and Alternate #1 would take her place. Wednesday, November 10, 2004 Another upset in the Jury Room! Juror #5, the Foreman, has been replaced by another alternate. The new jury foreman is Juror #6. Geragos places boat replica near courthouse as an "in your face" to the judge who denied Geragos using a video showing the replica to jury. But outrage from the community turned the boat into a MEMORIAL FOR LACI & CONNER!
