Laci Peterson, then 27 years old and eight months' pregnant, spent the morning of Dec. 23 grocery shopping at Trader Joe's in Modesto, according to the testimony of store manager Fred Eachus. He showed jurors a receipt for $90.90 of groceries she signed just after 10 a.m. As jurors gazed at an enlargement of the bill on a projection screen, Eachus ticked off 24 purchases, including Grand Marnier, profiteroles, stuffed salmon, eggs, shrimp and soup, and cereal.
