Angelynn Moore said results compared from the remains discovered at the Point Isabel Regional
Shoreline were consistent with samples taken from
Laci's parents, Sharon and Dennis Rocha.
Odds that the remains were someone other than Laci were one in 1.9 billion, Moore said.

She also positively identified the fetus Peterson was carrying when she went missing.

More said DNA samples taken from Conner were consistent with those taken from Laci and Scott
Peterson. There was a one in 18 billion chance that the remains did not belong to Conner, she said.

The results were not surprising, having been released just days after the remains
washed ashore. Geragos did not ask any questions, saying he had offered to
stipulate the remains were those of Laci and Conner, but prosecutors declined.

The testimony appeared to mark the beginning of the scientific investigation
prosecutors believe will help persuade jurors that Peterson killed his wife and
unborn son.
Similar testimony at the preliminary hearing was derided by courtroom
observers as tedious, a description that once again was being raised this morning.
