| Tuesday, JULY 6, 2004 Richmond Fire Department Captain Erik Newman also took the stand briefly and described how his five-person fire crew was the first to arrive at the scene after Michael Looby had called 911, after finding Conner, saying firefighters came prepared to administer first aid. Upon seeing the body, "was it fairly clear that there was not going to be a medical rescue?" prosecutor Dave Harris asked Newman. "Absolutely, yes," Newman said. "Based on looking at it, I determined it was what we call a DOA." Newman summoned police and cordoned off the area, he said. Police later responded to the scene. The body of Peterson's wife, Laci, washed ashore a day later, not far from where the fetus was found. HOME INDEX LACI SCOTT TRIAL ALIBI-WITNESS LIST BODIES FOUND |
