Scott makes secretive trips to the Bay August 30, 2004 A witness from Enterprise Rent A Car in Modesto has testified that Scott Peterson rented seven cars over several days. The state seemed to suggest Peterson was trying to lose police. Jason Tardiff, an Enterprise Car Rental employee, brought the rental car agreements for Peterson, for the months of January and Febbruary 2003, to court. Rentals included the following: Jan. 2-3, 2003 - Dodge Neon - Rented on Jan 2, returned on Jan 3. Jan. 6, 2003 - Honda Civic - One day only, returned on Jan. 6. (Divers searched Bay) Jan. 8-10, 2003 - White GMC pickup truck - Rented on Jan 8, returned on Jan 10 for new car. Jan. 10-16, 2003 - Silver Saturn SL2 - Turned in the White GMC truck on Jan 10 - 4:00 PM for the Silver Saturn which he returned on Jan. 16 for new car at 3:30 PM Jan. 16-23, 2003 - Lincoln Town Car - Turned in Silver Saturn on Jan 16 for Town Car, which he turned in on Jan. 23. Jan. 27-29, 2003 - White Dakota pickup truck - Rented Jan 27, returned Jan. 29.
